Day 3.1/30

Never thought traveling alone could feel kinda lonely and somehow disconnected. Perhaps I’m getting a bit homesick. It’s only been 3 friggin days! For goodness sake. I’m doubting whether I’ll last for the next 27 days! I’m honestly finding it more difficult to settle back in than I’d originally thought. I was roaming around the city today (Sunday) looking for a place to have lunch and most restaurants recommended by my friends were closed! Like, what!??!?! LOL I’m so beyond spoiled by Thai’s hospitality that I completely forgot that Kiwi Sundays are different from Thai’s.

Day 3.2/30

The weather was to be overcast with possible rain shower. And sure it did drizzle the whole afternoon. What a grim weather…

Manuka Honey is unbelievably expensive in Thailand so I was trying to price-compare them with the ones we could get in Thai elite supermarket. Ended up feeling quite overwhelmed by the selections!

May I say that I friggin love processed meat despite how bad they are for your body.

As soon as I got into town, first stop was New World supermarket. I really am keen on grocery shopping, aren’t I LOL. It literally gives me life! I enjoy finding random bits and bobs at the supermarket overseas. So naturally, I had to go to one while I’m here. lol Oh, there was one very embarrassing incident at the checkout counter. The guy at the checkout had to repeat himself a few times, trying to ask me something that I couldn’t for the life of me understand! So he gave up and said ‘ah, never mind’ in the defeated/giving-up sort of way. That’s what happened  when my brain stopped working. T-T And I just couldn’t shake off the shitty feeling that followed afterwards. Ah… rusty English.

After wandering around for almost an hour…I ended up having Nando’s for late lunch. It was as good as ever. But I also realised how I’m forgetting the simplest of task such as ordering food! That’s why I only had the chicken wrap because I forgot to order chips on the side T-T. Oh how dreadful.

After lunch I went on a 4-5 hour walk around Auckland CBD area to kill/past times. I didn’t want to go home because I knew work was waiting for me. Typical me. lol

Walk around Albert Park

One of my favourite things to do when I was studying here in NZ was taking a long walk in the park or down the waterfront. Sound of the waves against the harbour helps to calm my busy mind while sound of rustling leaves soothes my agonising soul. I could never get bored of it. It’s a great pastimes away from chaos and bustling life of adulthood.

Before I headed home, I was craving for some Mapo Tofu on rice. So I walked into the first Chinese restaurant I saw on the street I was on. Big mistake there. This was not the best Mapo Tofu. The sauce was salty and rice was rock hard. -_-;; Massive failure. But oh well.

Let’s hope it won’t chicken out too soon.

I gave myself a 30-day break away from distractions to figure out a plan for my next move. Somehow I thought by being here it will help to clarify things. But I’m not too sure now. We’ll see how it goes.
