It’s that time of the year again where many of us are prodded by a sense of duty/responsibility, whether by the influence of people on social media or close social circle, to take a moment to consciously look back and reflect upon our plans, goals, behaviours, mistakes, and achievements – to draw a single line that connects all the dots we have both knowingly and unknowingly marked over the last 365 days. It’s also the time where some of us choose, with hope and determination, to leave behind whatever things we no longer wish to carry forward, be it physical things, emotional baggages or people.
A sense of novelty hangs in the air. The prospect of new experiences and the promise of exciting adventures fill the hours leading up to yet another beginning and ending of a year.
As the end of 2022 approaches, here is my few words of farewell. 2022 started off as quickly as it has come to end. I braced for the impact, knowing full well how demanding it would be, but the effect still wore me out. All the uncertainty and many unresolved riddles of life’s greatest mysteries aside, 2022 has been another splendid yet confusing year. It has been painted in many different shades of emotions, outlined by countless amazing experiences, and made unique by the people I’ve come to know and are still part of my life. I’m thankful for it all.
